In the village of Gbledi Gbogame, information is relayed to the community through proverbs played on the talking drum. There are many compositions. There is a proverb to summon the chiefs; there is a proverb to go for food. Children learn their meanings at a young age. In this video, local musician Boniface Sasa warns the people of Gbledi that there is fire on the mountain and so they should fetch water and run headstrong into the blaze to snuff it out. It is also the same proverb as the one used for a call to arms in the event of war.
